Hello, I’m Caitlin-Marie

My life story in a nutshell goes something like this: High school girl goes above and beyond when it comes to beautifying any and every school assignment that comes across her desk. Girl decides to go the route of private Art School, excels at design and graduates with Honors. Girl dives head first into the creative field absorbing everything she can about the industry. Fast forward several years and girl comes down with a severe case of wanderlust and decides to pack her bags and move to the epicentre of Europe – London. Now I’m back in my home and native land and ready to establish myself all over again.

Let me take a moment to introduce myself – I’m the Caitlin behind CAITLIN-MARIE.COM and I’m pleased to welcome you to my own little slice of the web.

Since well before completing my intensive program at The Art Institute of Vancouver, I’ve had a love of the design field. Whether it be the concise design of my favourite fashion magazine’s masthead, the artful arrangement of a directions panel on the back of my morning tea’s packaging, or the utterly unique print treatment that elevates that otherwise standard annual report.

From those humble beginnings simply admiring good design, I’ve since received a varied experience of the industry. Four years were spent contributing to the success of Studiothink, a branding and marketing agency located just outside of Vancouver, time spent honing my skills and aesthetic, determining where exactly my passions lay within this dynamic business, perfecting my knowledge of prepress procedures and developing strong working relationship with print reps and brokers. Immediately following my stint at Studiothink, I struck off in to the unknown, arriving in London having never even visited before but with a strong desire to prove myself and further my career in design. From a few months consistently freelancing, to a three and a half year post as Graphic Designer and Print Manager at Mander Portman Woodward, a private college where I had the opportunity to elevate the design of every piece of material that crossed my desk. Fast forward to the present, I’m heading back to my home and native land of Canada. What will the next challenge be, you might ask? Well that’s entirely up to you; do I sound like someone you might like to work with? I thought as much. ;)
